Apple A8 was introduced in 2014 for high-end smartphones and tablets. It uses a 20 nm process and has 2 CPU cores, reaching about 1.5 GHz. It first appeared in iPhone 6 / iPhone 6 Plus. It runs at up to 1.4 GHz in iPhone 6 and 1.5 GHz in iPad mini 4.
