An ageing platform
This is a 2011 model with the Apple A5. Check the requirements of the apps you actually need before buying: older software and hardware can sharply limit your options. It is a compromise as a main phone today.
Battery condition matters more than old tests
A used Apple iPhone 4S 16Gb may have lost a substantial part of its original battery capacity. Check its condition and replacement history: launch-day battery figures do not describe an individual phone after years of use.
An old 30-pin connector
This phone uses the older 30-pin connector rather than Lightning or USB-C. An ordinary modern cable will not fit, so check that a working cable and suitable accessories are available before buying.
