Pros
Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.
The ASUS ROG Phone 7 Ultimate uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, fast LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. That provides plenty of headroom for games, photo editing and switching apps. Sustained workloads still generate heat, so peak speed is not guaranteed in every situation.
AirTrigger adds touch controls on the edge, while the side USB-C port keeps the charging cable out of your grip in landscape games. The AMOLED display supports up to 165 Hz, although available modes and frame rates depend on the game and settings.
The 6000 mAh battery provides capacity for everyday use, although brightness, reception and workload determine actual endurance. Charging is rated at 65 W, and the USB-C connector makes a compatible cable easy to find.
The Ultimate adds a rear ROG Vision display, AeroActive Portal and an included AeroActive Cooler 7. The cooler provides extra cooling and physical buttons for long gaming sessions, at the cost of a bulkier setup.
How do we assess advantages and disadvantages?
Our editorial assessment draws on specifications, manufacturer documentation and available material about the model. It does not imply our own laboratory testing. We distinguish physical RAM from virtual expansion; features and box contents can vary by market. Reference prices are conversions; check the store for the final price of an offer.
