DOOGEE S118 — Disadvantages

Smartphone editorial team · Updated:

Cons

Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.

The large battery and reinforced body add bulk and weight. You will notice it more in a pocket, and long calls can be less comfortable than with a slim everyday phone. Try holding it before buying if you can.

This model supports 4G rather than 5G. That is enough for ordinary mobile internet use, but you cannot use a 5G connection even if your network plan and local coverage provide it.

The ultrawide camera has only 8 MP. It is adequate for a broad view, but leaves less room for cropping and inspecting fine details than a higher-resolution camera with comparable optics.

There is no dedicated telephoto camera. Distant subjects rely on digital zoom from the main camera, which leaves less detail at higher magnifications than a suitable dedicated zoom module.

The 6.58-inch display suits content, but this is not a compact phone. Reaching controls at the top with one hand can be awkward, so check the grip and pocket fit before buying.

How do we assess advantages and disadvantages?

Our editorial assessment draws on specifications, manufacturer documentation and available material about the model. It does not imply our own laboratory testing. We distinguish physical RAM from virtual expansion; features and box contents can vary by market. Reference prices are conversions; check the store for the final price of an offer.
