Google Pixel Watch 5 45mm Wi-Fi — Disadvantages

Smartphone editorial team · Updated:

Cons

Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.

Google rates battery life at up to 40 hours with AOD enabled. This is not a week-long watch: long GPS workouts, calls and a bright screen reduce that figure, so charging needs a place in your routine.

It does not pair with an iPhone. At launch it required Android 12.0 or later, a Google account and the Pixel Watch app; individual features can have stricter requirements.

ECG, emergency tools and some Google features are not available in every country. Some advanced services require a subscription. Check local availability for the features that matter to you before buying.

This Wi-Fi version has no LTE. Regular calls and messages need a phone connection or suitable network access, so it cannot fully replace your phone when you head out.

The 45 mm case gives notifications more room, but can feel large on a narrow wrist. Try it on if possible, especially if you intend to wear it in bed.

How do we assess advantages and disadvantages?

Our editorial assessment draws on specifications, manufacturer documentation and available material about the model. It does not imply our own laboratory testing. We distinguish physical RAM from virtual expansion; features and box contents can vary by market. Reference prices are conversions; check the store for the final price of an offer.
