Huawei Watch 5 46mm LTE — Advantages

Smartphone editorial team · Updated:

Pros

Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.

Huawei Watch 5 46mm LTE has a 1.5-inch AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 resolution. It gives you an easy way to check the time, workout figures and short messages without reaching for your phone.

Huawei quotes up to 4.5 days of typical use. That is convenient for daily activity and sleep tracking, but it is a manufacturer test estimate, not a result from our own hands-on testing.

Heart-rate, sleep and activity tracking help you follow daily habits, while built-in GPS records routes without your phone. You can look back at several weeks of workouts in one place.

L1 and L5 GPS give the watch more tools to keep track of your route around buildings and trees. Accuracy still depends on the surroundings and satellite reception.

LTE and eSIM let you make calls without a nearby phone when your carrier and plan support the watch. That is handy for a run or a short outing without a smartphone.

An ECG sensor can record a short reading on your wrist and save it in the app where the feature is enabled and age requirements are met.

How do we assess advantages and disadvantages?

Our editorial assessment draws on specifications, manufacturer documentation and available material about the model. It does not imply our own laboratory testing. We distinguish physical RAM from virtual expansion; features and box contents can vary by market. Reference prices are conversions; check the store for the final price of an offer.
