OSCAL PILOT 5 — Disadvantages

Cons

Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.

OSCAL PILOT 5 weighs 570 g and is 25.3 mm thick. You will feel it in a pocket, and holding it in one hand for long periods is less comfortable. It suits buyers who are happy to trade compactness for its features.

The UNISOC T8100 is a sensible fit for everyday apps, but demanding games may need lower graphics settings. A high display refresh rate alone does not guarantee an equally high frame rate in games.

The 720×1604 resolution is a compromise in cost and power use. Small fonts and fine photo details will look less crisp than on Full HD+, and a large screen does not make up for that.

The camera setup is basic, with a 16 MP main camera and a 13 MP front camera. It is aimed at documents and simple shots in good light; do not expect the low-light versatility of a more expensive camera-focused phone.
