Cons
Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.
E Ink refreshes differently from LCD or OLED. Fast scrolling can leave traces of the previous image, and the screen is a poor fit for video or fast-paced games.
At around 470 g, the large device is less comfortable for prolonged one-handed reading. A desk or stand is a better fit.
Colour content is displayed at 150 ppi, compared with 300 ppi for black-and-white text. Small coloured details therefore look less sharp.
Android adds flexibility but also needs configuration. Not every app is adapted to E Ink, while heavy Wi-Fi and app use reduces battery life.
How do we assess advantages and disadvantages?
Our editorial assessment draws on specifications, manufacturer documentation and available material about the model. It does not imply our own laboratory testing. We distinguish physical RAM from virtual expansion; features and box contents can vary by market. Reference prices are conversions; check the store for the final price of an offer.
