A useful battery reserve
The 8340mAh battery gives calls, messages and navigation a useful energy reserve. That helps when you are away from a socket during the day. Actual runtime depends on screen brightness, reception and how you use the phone.
Optical stabilization for handheld shots
The 50MP main camera has OIS to counter small hand movements when you shoot without a tripod. That is particularly welcome in the evening. The 8MP ultrawide helps fit a building or a group of friends into the frame, though it offers less detail than the main camera.
Dust and water protection
The global model carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. They offer reassurance in rain and around accidental water exposure. These are laboratory ratings, and protection can weaken with wear, so deliberately taking the phone swimming is best avoided.
