Cons
Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.
No dedicated telephoto
The two 50 MP rear cameras cover standard and ultrawide views. Distant details require digital zoom. We would judge the Fold8 more cautiously as an all-purpose travel camera than as a device for viewing content.
Wide even when folded
A folded width of 81.9 mm creates an unfamiliar grip. Reaching the opposite edge with your thumb may be harder. A shorter body does not automatically make a phone suitable for one-handed use.
The new shape takes adjustment
Apps and videos do not all use a 4:3 screen equally well; borders or different layouts may appear. We would open our everyday apps before buying. An impressive multi-window demonstration does not guarantee that every service will feel comfortable.
