Samsung Galaxy Watch FE 40mm Bluetooth — Disadvantages

Smartphone editorial team · Updated:

Cons

Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.

A 247 mAh battery does not mean a week away from the charger. Always On Display, GPS, calls and apps shorten runtime, so charging needs a place in your routine.

You need a compatible phone with Android 11 or later and Google services; iPhone is not supported. Some Samsung Health Monitor features depend on a Galaxy phone and region, while NFC payments depend on the service and bank.

This is the Bluetooth model, without LTE or eSIM. Away from Wi-Fi, mobile calls and messages need your phone nearby; a software update cannot add cellular hardware.

The 1.2-inch display has limited room for long messages and small controls. A larger watch may be easier to use if reading text on your wrist is the priority.

It lacks the dual-frequency L1+L5 GPS found in newer models. Tracking can be less consistent around tall buildings or trees, so compare newer generations if route accuracy is your priority.

How do we assess advantages and disadvantages?

Our editorial assessment draws on specifications, manufacturer documentation and available material about the model. It does not imply our own laboratory testing. We distinguish physical RAM from virtual expansion; features and box contents can vary by market. Reference prices are conversions; check the store for the final price of an offer.
