Cons

Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.

TP-Link Archer MR400. The Ethernet ports are limited to 100 Mbps. A faster broadband plan cannot reach its full speed through the wired WAN, regardless of the larger Wi-Fi number on the box. Actual throughput is below the port’s nominal rate.

Mobile connectivity stops at 4G, with no 5G support. Speeds depend on coverage, cell congestion and your plan. Check that the particular regional version supports your operator’s bands before buying.

This is Wi-Fi 5, without Wi-Fi 6 features such as OFDMA. It remains suitable for everyday use, but offers less room to grow when you are upgrading a network for many newer devices.

How do we assess advantages and disadvantages?

Our editorial assessment draws on specifications, manufacturer documentation and available material about the model. It does not imply our own laboratory testing. We distinguish physical RAM from virtual expansion; features and box contents can vary by market. Reference prices are conversions; check the store for the final price of an offer.
