Pros
Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.
Display: a compelling reason to choose the newer generation
Scrolling feeds, switching apps and watching animations are precisely where an adaptive refresh rate up to 120 Hz helps. For the standard iPhone, this matters more than another performance increase. Always-On shows the time and notifications without fully waking the screen. If the display previously pushed you towards a Pro, there is now less reason to pay the premium.
Cameras: useful changes for everyday photography
Two 48 MP rear cameras offer standard and wide perspectives, while the 18 MP Center Stage front camera helps with group selfies. We like the range of situations covered: interiors, friends and short videos all fit the same device. Owners also praise photographs, although megapixel counts alone do not guarantee good results in every lighting condition.
Performance and storage: practical headroom
The A19 and 256 GB of starting storage make a sensible combination for a phone intended to last several years. More space means fewer decisions about which videos to delete before a trip. Owners also mention responsive operation. We would give this more weight than small differences in benchmark scores.
Battery life: reasons for a positive assessment
Notebookcheck recorded around 20 hours in its Wi-Fi browsing test. That reflects a specific test procedure, not a promise of two days for everyone. Together with positive owner feedback about the battery, it supports treating endurance as a strength.
