Pros
Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.
A lighter body for everyday use
A 19 g difference is more interesting than it looks in a table. Extra weight serves no purpose during a long reading session or video call. The A57 keeps its large format while shedding weight. IP68 adds protection, but does not make it an underwater camera.
A screen suited to reading and video
The 6.7-inch, 120 Hz Super AMOLED Plus display makes a persuasive case for people who read extensively on their phones. Text, maps and the keyboard have room to breathe. In our view, this large screen is a central reason to consider it as an everyday main phone.
A practical battery setup
Owners praise battery life and responsiveness. A 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W charging looks balanced for this class. We see that as a useful combination, not a promise of a fixed number of days away from a socket.
Optical stabilisation on the main camera
The 50 MP main camera includes OIS. For everyday photography, that is more useful than a megapixel count alone. The ultrawide camera provides another perspective for interiors and landscapes.
