Samsung Galaxy A57 5G — Disadvantages

Cons

Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.

A large screen still means a large phone

Lighter does not mean compact. At 76.8 mm wide, this is a phone to try in one hand before buying. A 6.7-inch display may be a compromise if you want something that slips into a small pocket.

The cameras do not cover every situation

There is no dedicated telephoto camera. Distant details rely on digital zoom, and a macro camera is no substitute. One review criticises selfies. That does not establish a general fault, but we would check sample images if self-portraits are a priority.

No wired-charging upgrade over the A56

The predecessor already offered 5,000 mAh and 45 W. We would not rush to replace an A56 solely for battery capacity or wired charging. The advertised wattage also does not mean the phone sustains that power throughout a charge.

USB is still slow

USB 2.0 is a limitation if you regularly copy large video files over a cable. It is not an issue for charging, but it makes the A57 less appealing as a tool for moving large archives quickly.
