Pros
Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.
Body: a flagship without unnecessary bulk
At 167 g, the S26 is an interesting option if you do not want a large, heavy phone. We value everyday comfort more than an impressive list of records. Still, try holding it with a case before buying.
Display: a useful size for everyday tasks
Dynamic AMOLED 2X with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz combines a smooth interface with a moderate screen size. We would choose this format for messaging, navigation and reading when a larger display starts getting in the way.
Performance: encouraging owner feedback
Owners reviewing the S26 itself highlight quick operation and convenience. That is useful feedback for everyday tasks, but it does not replace an extended gaming test.
Cameras: a proper telephoto option
A separate camera with 3× optical zoom is a practical benefit for portraits and details. We appreciate having a choice of framing rather than relying entirely on pinch-to-zoom. Even so, judge each camera using sample photographs in the lighting that matters to you.
Battery: a welcome direction
We welcome the increase in capacity. Wireless charging is also convenient at a desk: simply place the phone on a compatible stand. For us, this is about convenience rather than a promise of record-breaking endurance.
