Sony confirmed a manufacturing issue in some Xperia 1 VII units that could cause shutdowns, restarts or failure to power on, and announced a replacement programme. Before buying, especially used, check the IMEI and replacement history with Sony for the original sales market.
The manual photo and video modes take time to learn. If you only want automatic shooting, some of the phone’s capabilities may go unused. Try the camera interface before buying to see whether its approach suits you.
The standard European box does not include a charger or USB cable. If you do not already own suitable accessories, budget for them separately. Fast charging requires a USB Power Delivery charger.
