TP-Link Deco X20 — Disadvantages

Cons

Our editorial view of this model’s strengths and limitations.

TP-Link Deco X20. Each unit has only two Ethernet ports. Once one is used for internet access or a wired link to another node, connections for local equipment are limited; you may need a switch.

There is no separate radio band dedicated to backhaul. Wireless links between units share airtime with clients, making placement important. Also check the pack size: the same model can be sold with different numbers of units.

There is no 6 GHz band. This is dual-band Wi-Fi 6 rather than Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7, so newer compatible phones and laptops cannot use a separate 6 GHz band here.

How do we assess advantages and disadvantages?

Our editorial assessment draws on specifications, manufacturer documentation and available material about the model. It does not imply our own laboratory testing. We distinguish physical RAM from virtual expansion; features and box contents can vary by market. Reference prices are conversions; check the store for the final price of an offer.
